I was awakened by the shouting of more crowds of protesters. Fortunately they are not burning and wrecking shit. Yet. The day is young.

There exists a clear and present danger ingrained in Chilean people, and that is the lack of, and avoidance of, a sense of personal responsibility. When caught in an error, lapse in judgment, or outright red-handed doing something purposely wrong, they will deny everything and attempt to turn the tables on the accuser, “how dare you insult my dignity!?”

Which I find entirely fitting for the laughable name they have given to the bombed-out wasteland they changed from Plaza Italia to Plaza de Dignidad. Let me tell you, there is no dignity there. Not even the sidewalks remain; the rioters smashed them in order to have ammunition to throw at the police. Every storefront near there is smashed or burned, barricaded with steel plates, every surface painted over three times in graffiti calling for dead cops. Metro station Baquedano, underneath it all, was so badly wrecked that it remains closed even to transfers between rail lines. It would make the perfect set for an apocalypse movie.

So, instead of admitting any sort of wrongdoing, they try and convince themselves that the environment is wrong. And they just keep committing the same mistakes expecting different results (the definition of insanity). Thus, when the protests get rowdy enough, and the cops show up to try and disperse them, the rioters get even more violent and then express grand surprise that people get hurt, run over, shot in the face with pepper gas, sprayed with burning chemical agents, etc. Like, what the everloving fuck did you expect?

Then, of course, according to the protesters, it’s all the cops’ fault. Granted I am no fan of cops in general but in this situation my heart goes out to them. Anyone else viewing this stuff can see the remarkable amount of restraint the cops show here. In any other country, there would be a lot of dead rioters with bullets in them. 10,000 people rioting in a square throw a fit when they rip a cop off his motorcycle, throw it in the riverbed, and light it on fire. He escapes, barely, and the vehicles helping him get out manage to crush a pedestrian or two. The crowd, with the help of the media, post his photo and identity on the internet, further endangering his life and those of his family. Wash, rinse, repeat. There is no end in sight, because the people are rebels without a cause.

My crystal ball tells me that the plebiscite vote does not matter, really. There is nothing truly awful with the constitution, barring some judicial reforms. My prediction is that the plebiscite will fail and things will continue as “normal.” And if it wins, the new constitution will likely be a paraphrased version of what already exists. Because, once again, the existing constitution is not terrible. I think the main reason people want to change it, other than to fix some judicial problems, is more because “it was Pinochet’s constitution and it’s got to go.” Change a few words and voila! Look it’s a new constitution!

If they really get into the guts of it, then nobody will agree on what to change. Hell, every single political party here is too busy infighting (and avoiding personal responsibility by throwing everyone they can under the bus) to even get any proper leadership sorted out. It’s a hilarious game of hot potato! So a fresh new draft of a constitution is doomed. In order to try pleasing everyone, they will please no one. Or they will just fight for years while more angry mobs burn what is left of Chile to the ground. Chile’s culture of responsibility-avoidance and lack of forethought is going to guarantee a disaster should the constitution be completely redrafted.

And if they keep the old one, their mobs will continue to terrorize, loot, amd destroy. They will continue to blame their problems on a constitution they have never read. Chile is stuck in an unfortunate downward spiral from which, in my opinion, it will not re-emerge any time soon. It is their culture that needs to change. A culture now driven by spoiled and impressionable youth raised in the counterswing of socialists taking full advantage of their post-Pinochet pity party. And these kids will never, ever admit that they are wrong.

I hope I’m wrong about all of this, I really do. How un-Chilean of me!

On Wednesday, Venezuela decided to finally pull the trigger on leaving the Organization of American States. This is the first logical thing the Venezuelan government has done since Chavez took power.

Gee, I wonder if they will be missed.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Dear Mr. Trump

This is your chance to prove to everyone that businessmen are not scum-of-the-Earth evil masterminds who wring their hands in quiet mirth as they rain destruction down upon the dirty brown people of far off lands, and that we are, in fact, the source of jobs, investments, prosperity, and a welcome benefit to mankind and its quality of life.

It’s hard enough as it is to tread against the mindless current of the media and popular leftist business-hating culture.

You’re starting to fuck it up for all of us. Think about what you’re doing, man.

Shia Leboeuf’s celebretard art installation “He will not divide us” has finally divided us.

It started with Shia himself attacking an attendee and being arrested for assault. Originally created as a “peaceful protest” to “bring people together” where anyone was encouraged to record their statements on a camera which would repeat the video in perpetuity, the street found its own use for things and soon crowds of people started showing up, including those with opposing views.

“The installation created a serious and ongoing public safety hazard for the museum, its visitors, staff, local residents, and businesses.” – Museum of the Moving Image

Opposing views are not welcome in the world of political correctness, and so Shia physically assaulted an exhibit attendee, and, as he was carted away in handcuffs, his parting words of tolerance and peace were, “How are we going to make this shit okay to be a Nazi out here?”

“Over the course of the installation, there have been dozens of threats of violence and numerous arrests, such that police felt compelled to be stationed outside the installation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” – Museum of the Moving Image

Opened on January 20, the exhibit ran a mere 5 days before Shia’s arrest and was shut down less than 2 weeks later.

“The Museum Has Abandoned Us.” Shia tweeted after the exhibit’s closing, completely ignoring the fact that it is his own fault, and it all went fine until he attacked someone.

HAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA etc, etc, etc.

Celebrity douchebags Shia LeBeouf, Ronkko & Turner have put up a website and art installation at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, which is basically a rolling feed of other douchebags repeating “He will not divide us” as a protest to the election of President Donald Trump, who took the oath and was sworn in earlier today. They plan to run it for 4 years, or until their wishes come true and democracy is thrown out in favor of some fucked up pre-school logic system where the guy you cheer for always wins and everyone gets a trophy just for showing up.

No, he will not divide us. You fuckwits are dividing us just fine without his help by protesting the democratic process.

Get over it.

Get a haircut.

Get a job.

Don’t let anyone try and tell you that corporations and businesses create jobs.
~ Hillary Clinton

You are a pompous, arrogant ass, Hillary Clinton. And either you have fallen hook line and sinker for the crap that you are spewing from every orifice, or you have become such an excellent automaton that we can no longer tell that you don’t believe a single word that comes out of your mouth.

If light bulbs ran on lies, we could solve the world’s energy problems right in Washington.

Since the taboo has been broken and it’s no longer considered gauche to start running for President 2 years before the actual election, I have decided to announce my candidacy for the President of the United States of America.

My platform: Let’s fix our shit.

Yes, I am a pretty staunch anarchocapitalist but I am also pragmatic in my knowledge that most people are just food tubes looking for people to tell them what to do. What is plaguing the place is that you food tubes have been given delusions of grandeur and the resulting class warfare is making those of us who support your sorry asses a tad irritable, to say the least. So instead of nuking the entire site from orbit and starting over, I will do the following to get things sorted back out:

My first act upon taking office will be to throw all caution to the wind, and, unlike all previous presidents, I will not be a whimpering pussy and wait until the last moment of the last minute of the last day of my tenure to issue pardons; the Presidential pardon is the ultimate check and balance in the system and it has never been used. Yet.

I will immediately create an office to issue pardons to all people convicted of the following “crimes:”

  • Tax evasion. This will pretty much gut the IRS and force reforms to the tax code which not even the IRS, admittedly, can make sense of.
  • Drugs. What you put in your body is none of the government’s business. You’d think they would have learned from Prohibition. No more people need to die over plants you can grow in your backyard.
  • Prostitution. There are no victims, except the people in jail.
  • Money laundering. If it’s OK for the feds to do it, it’s OK for Joe the Plumber.

My second act in office will be to immediately cease all external military actions, close all foreign military bases, and bring every soldier home where he belongs. Let other countries sort their own shit out. The world will need to become a very civil place very quickly. If they don’t want to be, that’s fine; we’ll be OK right here on our own dirt, with the entirety of the world’s angriest jarhead army defending the home court.

I will then assign the most pacifist, uncooperative assholes I can find to positions like the Secretary of State, and intentionally make it hard for people to reach them. I will scramble the phone number directories on a regular basis.

Every member of Congress will then be rounded up by my own private army (what to do with all those soldiers?) and be implanted with tracking devices that the American people can watch on a public website. Their houses will be wired for Reality Television, the shows aired on cable, and the proceeds rolled back into the paying off the public debt.

The White House will also be wired up for Reality Television. I will fill it with rock stars and porn stars, and the Playboy Mansion will have to be condemned as “being too square” in comparison. As I am unmarried, there can be no ridiculous scandals about who I screw, and it will be televised anyway. The profits from this cable channel will also be rolled back into paying off the public debt. Instead of picket signs, the White House fence will be festooned with a garland of bras and panties.

All of my Secret Service will be replaced by women, and they will then be renamed my Victoria’s Secret Service. I will parade around the world collecting massive speaking fees simply to show up as an international sex symbol with babes hanging on my arms. These fees will also be rolled back into paying off the public debt. I believe that over 4 years’ time, the Sexy President (TM) franchise will be a significant monetary machine and a tremendous public asset.

I will then spend the rest of my Presidency actively vetoing every last piece of paper that comes across my desk, firing all the losers I can fire, trimming fat where I find it, and doing absolutely nothing else to endanger the health and wellbeing of the American people.

Maybe I’ll take up golf.

And, if that works for you, I’ll run again 2 years before my term is over.

Remember, vote for ExpatBob in 2016!
